Peace in your heart

"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart."

That sentiment was on the cover of a catalog that made its way into my mailbox this week. How true.

Do you have calm in your heart? I'm not just talking about when you're by yourself, but do you have calm all day, in and out of your adventures?

When I first met Paul Scheele in the early 80s I would have said I was calm in my heart. In looking back, I really wasn't, but I didn't know what I didn't know. The calm I experience today is hugely different from the calm back then. No way would I ever want to go back.

We began creating the Paraliminals in 1988. I noticed a shift in myself. It was easy to keep creating new ones, because I was getting so much personal benefit from them. One after another. Our clients loved them, too, but they were really, really important to me. As a result, life kept getting better, problems were less obstructive, and I learned to love being me.

In the early 1990s I attended the Landmark Education Forum seminar, and a massive edge in my life smoothed out, almost overnight.  I thought I was truly calm in my heart. (Ha!)

Because then I met Chunyi Lin in the late 1990s and began practicing Spring Forest Qigong.  Another wave of calm settled in.

In the early 2000s I met Marie Diamond and began applying the principles of Diamond Feng Shui, and I was surprised at how much more at peace I was. It was as if the good energy of my home and office carried with me any place I went.

But it didn't stop. I met Jeddah and dove into her work with the same eagerness as I had with everything else.

My work with her has given me a calm in my heart that I feel during nearly every moment of every day, and it is beyond what I had back when I thought I had calm. You may say you enjoy great contentment in your life, but remember, you probably don't know what you don't. I'm saying this to encourage you to continue your journey of your own growth.  Stay with it. Keep stepping into new challenges, higher levels of performance, and greater calm.

I'm not being complacent either. My journey continues (and yes we have cool courses coming out next year!). My experience tells me that the peace in my heart I have today will pale in comparison to what I'll soon be experiencing. Join me. Join all of us. Dive in, the water's warm, and fun.
